Orientation of New Students
At every new Quarter, new students or freshers spend a period of one week being oriented to the University life and activities. During the orientation period the freshers are given opportunities to interact with the university staff for assistance in making study course choices and career aspiration.
Orientation Week
New students (Fresher) are by tradition given an "acclimatization" period of normally one week which is referred to as the "Orientation Week". During this week, Freshers are introduced to the key facilities in the University, as well as other important aspects of life at the University.
A programme of activities is always issued out by the Office of the Academic Registrar and is expected to be strictly followed. During the Week, arrangements will normally be made to enable Freshers to meet and be addressed by such key officer of the University as the Vice Chancellor, the Academic registrar, the University Secretary, Dean of Students, Bursar Directors of Schools. This is in addition to Wardens and student leaders who welcome the students, The Freshers are also expected to take advantage of the Week to survey and acquaint themselves with the general campus
Swearing-in Ceremony for the Freshers
At the swearing-in Ceremony, freshers shall be presented to the Vice Chancellor to take their Oath of Allegiance to the University. The ceremony shall be organized by the Office of the Dean of Students.
