Marketing

The Marketing Department under the School of Business Administration is one of the most promising departments within Nkumba University.

The Department aims to effectively teach marketing with a great desire to prepare marketing graduates with the practical skills required in developing company market share, product quality and promotional effectiveness.

The Department prepares marketers oriented towards creation, satisfaction and retention of customers in today’s competitive environment.  To achieve this, we have put more emphasis on research and development.  Our aim is to produce market researchers with knowledge, skills and ability to gather, interpret and provide timely information on customer and customer oriented strategies that benefit organizations.

Over the years, the department has consistently graduated many students and has introduced two new demand driven courses in the past few years i.e. the Bachelor of Procurement and Logistics Management (BPLM) and Masters in Procurement and Logistics Management (MPLM), to fill the ever increasing demand for procurement officers on the African continent and beyond.

The department has realised the ever increasing demand for marketing courses in the world of work.  More than 60% of all the activities in any business is to do with marketing and procurement.  To this we have put strategies in place to acquire, teach and prepare sustainable levels of students.

The department is also constrained by challenges such as strengthening our linkages with the world of work, inadequate space and internet facilities.

We are grateful to the university for acting confidence and dynamic in helping the Marketing department achieve its objectives.
