Masters of Management Information Systems
The Masters of Management Information Systems (MMIS) is a professional degree that integrates the Information Systems and Business cultures. Management decision-making skills and the strategic role of information systems are the focus of this program.
Designed for working adults, the program will attract a diverse group of students from a wide range of educational backgrounds, professional experiences, and interests. Core courses prepare students for in-depth exploration of information systems in a chosen area of emphasis.
The objective of the MMIS program of study is to prepare the graduate to assume a senior staff position or management position in the information systems field, to become a MIS professional. Where the undergraduate programs readies the graduate to become a programmer-analyst, telecommunication administrator, or apprentice database administrator, the masters program graduate should be prepared to manage such a group of people. One should understand the need for information technology as well as having the skill to plan for, create, and implement it.
The required courses in the program will provide the skills to understand and create computer-based systems. The additional courses give you the understanding of the use of information technology to implement business vision, take advantage of opportunity, and to gain a competitive advantage in a global economy.
It is offered for a period of two years.
