University Senate
The University has a Senate whose
functions are:
- To scrutinise and approve academic regulations and
programme.
- Examine and approve examinations.
- Analyse the examinations irregularities and make decisions
on the course of action.
- Regulate academic rules for the improvement of the University
standards.
- Examine the performance of individual Schools and Departments.
- Set regulations and standards for research and other
academic matters.
- Recommend to the University Council for any University
expansion or withdrawal of departments or part of their offers.
- Recommend to the University Council any new policies
for guiding staff and improvement of the University academics.
- Award degrees, diploma, certificates, honorary degrees
or academic titles.
- Approve academic terms and duration of the programme offered.
