Mission, Objectives and Vision
Nkumba University as an institution
of higher learning in a developing region seeks to realize
the following objectives:
- To widen access to higher education
and professional development opportunities by providing
high quality practical career oriented education to a wide
range of students including adult continuing, re-entering
and distance learners as well as fresh post secondary school
leavers.
- To raise the participation
levels of women in higher education and hence in the business
and public affairs of this nation and beyond.
- To create
a learning environment that nurtures confidence, promotes
competence, creativity and character in the students so
as to produce informed graduates who can think critically,
communicate effectively, act responsibly and morally in
an increasingly complex national and global environment.
Vision of the University
Nkumba University endeavours to be a national and regional
centre of excellence in Applied Business Education in East
Africa. The University’s motto is “I Owe You”.
It embodies a commitment to human and professional interdependence,
mutual obligation, and trust. The motto rhymes well with other
aspirations which is symbiotic relationship between the individual,
the institution and society. The three are equally challenged
to make a worthwhile contribution to society and individuals.
