The name of the association:
NKUMBA UNIVERSITY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION (NUAA)
The headquarters of the association is at Nkumba University and the address: P.O. Box 237, Entebbe.
The objects of the association is: -
- to promote the ideals of good citizenship by participating fully in all aspects of life of the country, particularly in the social, political and economic;
- to take keen interest in and promote the education of young men and women especially at Nkumba University;
- to promote mutual aid and co-operation among the members of the association;
- to hold land and maintain a club-house at Nkumba or elsewhere for the purposes of the association’s activities;
- to take full interest in the affairs of Nkumba University and where appropriate, to advise the University authorities on any matter of mutual concern to the university and the association;
- to do all things necessary to promote the spiritual, intellectual, and physical welfare of the members of the association.
Membership:
The association consists of life members, ordinary members and honorary members.
Qualification for Membership:
- all former students of Nkumba University/College of Commerce, are eligible for ordinary membership.
- Ordinary members may become life members by payment of a life membership fee to be fixed from time to time at the Annual General Meeting (A.G.M) in accordance with article 28(ii) hereinafter;
- Persons of standing in the community may be elected honorary members upon a motion passed at the A.G.M
Note:
- such a motion is laid before Central Executive Committee (C.E.C) at least a four days prior to the A.G.M.
- selection of honorary members is by forwarding in writing to C.E.C, a name or names of individuals for consideration to be made honorary members.
- The C.E.C shall consider the names and make recommendations to the A.G.M.
- The A.G.M shall make the final decision as to who is to be an honorary member.
- The total number of honorary members shall not exceed ten(10).
Application for ordinary membership is in writing through a prescribed form, which is paid for by the applicant and which the applicant shall address to the Hon. Secretary.
