Programme
- Day programme lectures shall start at 7.00a.m and end at 5.00p.m.
- Evening Programme lectures shall start at 5.15p.m and end at 9.15p.m.

Weekend Programme lectures shall start at 8.00a.m and end at 06.00p.m.
Each student shall be required to sign an attendance form every time she/he attends a lecture to enable lecturers certify that a student attends lectures before issuing him/her a Certificate of Due Attendance. At the end of Every Quarter each student shall e required to evaluate the lecturer by responding positively and objectively to the evaluation form.
All students who wish to change a course shall formally apply to the Academic Registrar through the Dean of the respective School. The applicant shall be required to complete the change of course form obtainable from the Office of the Academic Registrar. The form shall be completed in triplicate and a copy will be retained by the Office of the Academic Registrar, a copy sent to the former School and a copy sent to the School offering the required course. |
A student wishing to terminate his/her registration must consult with the Academic Registrar prior to the withdrawal. When a student officially withdraws, a withdrawal credit will be calculated on pro rata basis as of the date of receipt of the letter of withdrawal. Credit for fees or refunds will depend on the date of withdrawal and the amount of fees originally paid. |
Student shall apply for a dead quarter to Academic Registrar through the Warden and the Dean of the respective School within the Quarter it is sought. The student shall then be required to fill in a Dead Quarter Form obtainable from the Office of the Academic Registrar at a fees of 20,000/=.
A Dead Quarter shall be applied for at the beginning of the quarter and will only be given to a student after due
consideration by the Academic Registrar. No student shall be given more than 3 dead Quarters. |
All students who wish to change programme (for example from Evening to weekend, day to evening etc) shall formally apply to academic Registrar through the Dean of the respective school, with a fee of shs 100,000= payable for change of A candidate who has done a diploma of Nkumba University and passed with a "B" and above shall be exempted from studying some of the prescribed courses for the degree s/he has registered for if they are relevant to the course applied for at a fee of 20,000/= per exemption.
Candidates with Diplomas from recognized higher institutions of learning shall also be considered. |
Degree courses shall normally take a minimum period of 3 or 4 years depending on the nature of the course and a maximum period of 5 or 6 years
Diploma courses shall normally take a minimum period of 2 years and maximum period of 3 years
Certificate courses shall normally take a minimum period of 1 year and maximum period of 2 years from the date of a student admission to the University.
Registration shall be terminated after the maximum period in
each case, the student may re-apply to the University if she/he wishes. |
Credit transfers shall be considered on merit. The average score of a credit transfer shall not be less than “B”. Transfer of credits shall be subject to approval by the senate following recommendations from the respective school boards after they have considered the course content covered at the end of the term.
